Granville, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's soccer team travelled to Denison University to meet the Big Red on the field on Saturday night. As the Tigers did on Wednesday, the defense stood their ground until the 55th minute when Denison scored the only goal of the match-up.
The Big Red outpaced the Tigers in shot-count, legging 33 total shots on the evening to Wittenberg's nine. Sydney Weaver came up from the backfield in good form to put two shots on goal against Denison. Taylor Vaughn-Stanton tacked on two more under her stat line. Goalie Kelly Corbin had a premiere night, allowing only one goal and made 11 saves.
Wittenberg will return home to continue NCAC action on Wednesday, Oct. 17 for a Tigers vs. Tigers showdown against the DePauw University at 7:00 PM.
