Wittenberg Football Game At Hiram Rescheduled For November 23
The football game between Wittenberg University and Hiram College originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, Sept. 21, has officially been rescheduled for a 3 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Henry Field in Hiram, Ohio. The teams were unable to play on the original date due to unsubstantiated threats of violence that caused Wittenberg to suspend in-person classes and activities for one week in September.
The makeup game against the Terriers on Nov. 23 will give both teams a full 10-game season and provide the student-athletes an opportunity to add to their resumes ahead of all-conference voting. Wittenberg is currently 4-3 on the season, including a record of 3-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) after defeating Oberlin 77-0 on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Edwards-Maurer Field. The Tigers are scheduled to host league co-leader Wabash at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, and then travel to Wooster for 1 p.m. kick-off on Saturday, Nov. 16, before concluding the season with the rescheduled game at Hiram.
The Terriers and Tigers have met 23 times previously on the gridiron in a series that dates back to 1920. Wittenberg has won all 23 of those meetings, including last year's 21-7 victory in Springfield.
