Luke Jackson Earns Academic All-American Honors

AUSTIN, TX - On Tuesday, January 26, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) named 51 student-athletes to the 2025 Division III Academic All-America Football Team. Wittenberg senior defensive back Luke Jackson (DeGraff, OH / Indian Lake) earned second-team honors as the lone Wittenberg student to be named to the team.

Jackson boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.88 as a mathematics major.

This past season, Jackson logged 109 total tackles, 49 of which were solo tackles and 60 assisted tackles to average 10.9 tackles per game after playing in all 10 games last season. Jackson led the NCAC in all four categories at the end of the season. He was also one of the four Tigers recognized with All-NCAC honors this past season and the lone Tiger to be named to the first team.

Jackson was one of five Tigers who previously earned CSC Academic All-District Football honors. At that time, Jackson was selected as an Academic All-America finalist and advanced to a competitive national ballot that was decided by votes cast by CSC members.

Jackson is the first student-athlete representing Wittenberg Football to earn Academic All-America honors since Donald Hefelfinger in 2018. Jackson becomes the 54th Tiger student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors since the inception of the Academic All-America program in 1952. Click here to learn more
