Bio
Former Tiger gridiron standout Chris Schmidt returned to the Tiger football coaching staff in 2003, taking over the tight end position. Schmidt, a 2000 graduate of Wittenberg, also coached that position in 2001 before leaving for a coaching position at Bellefontaine High School for two years. He remains a resident of Springfield and a middle school teacher in the Bellefontaine School District.
Schmidt earned three letters during his playing days in the Red & White, and he enjoyed a breakout senior season in 1999. He started every game and caught three passes for 68 yards, good for a whopping 22.7 yards per catch.
