D'Gary Wallace joined the Wittenberg University football coaching staff in April 2026. He arrived at Wittenberg after more than 10 years of college coaching experience, including stops at Defiance College, Capital University, Cincinnati Christian University, Urbana University, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and Alcorn State.

In his career, Wallace has guided players to a total of 28 all-conference and two All-America awards. Wallace has been identified as a leader in the profession, including being named a “Rising Star” by FootballScoop.com and included on a “Minority Watch List." In 2022, he was chosen for the prestigious NCAA/NFL Administrators Academy. The NCAA also selected Coach Wallace as an “Emerging Leader” in 2021.

Wallace has enjoyed success at every level of college football, and as a position coach, he has produced consistent results. In addition to his collegiate experience, Wallace served two stints as the defensive coordinator for his high school alma mater, Paul Laurence Dunbar in Dayton, Ohio. He helped guide seven players to all-state honors between 2017 and 2019.

As a college athlete at Urbana University, Wallace was a two-time NCAA Division II All-American linebacker. He ended his career as the all-time leader for Urbana in career tackles, career-assisted tackles, total tackles in a single season, assisted tackles in a single season, and most tackles in a single game. In 2015, Wallace was named a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award for being the best defensive player in Division II. He was a three-time first-team All-Mountain East Conference honoree, and he still holds the conference record for most career tackles.

Wallace graduated from Urbana with a degree in early childhood education.
