GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Wittenberg field hockey team dropped a 6-1 decision to North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) rival Denison.
The Tigers dropped to 2-7 overall and 2-4 in the NCAC with the loss. Denison improved to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the conference.
The Big Red held a 14-8 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in penalty corner opportunities in the game. Denison managed to cash in on three of their eight shots in the first half and three of their six attempts on goal over the final 30 minutes.
Wittenberg trailed 6-0 when sophomore Kim Loofbourrow (Prospect, Ky./Ballard) put the Tigers on the board with an unassisted goal in the 63rd minute. She was one of six players to take a shot for Wittenberg in the game, led by senior Kellen Morrissey (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill) and freshman Karen Blacklock (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) with two apiece.
Junior goalkeeper Jessica Jensen (Hartland, Wisc./Arrowhead) made five saves in the game.
