After evenly played first half, Kenyon scores three times in the second to pull away from host Wittenberg.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers saw a 2-1 halftime deficit move to a final of 5-1 after Kenyon put together a strong second half.
The loss dropped Wittenberg to 0-7 on the season, including a mark of 0-3 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Kenyon improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the league.
Kenyon opened the scoring with a pair of goals in the first eight minutes, both by Katelyn Hutchinson off feeds from Minke Verweij. The Tigers responded with a goal in the 14th minute by freshman Blaine Donnelly (Hanover, Md./Archbishop Spalding), who re-directed a pass from senior Paige Vanerstrom (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny).
Over the final 35 minutes, however, Kenyon put the game away with a trio of goals.
The final shot count was 14-12 in favor of Wittenberg, including a 12-6 edge in the first half alone, and the Tigers also had the advantage in penalty corners at 9-7. In goal, junior Sarah Brownell (Ocnomowoc, Wis./University Lake School) finished with five saves.
Vanerstrom led Wittenberg with five shots and sophomore Audrey Coler (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) added three attempts on frame in the game. Sophomores Riley Trexler (Louisville, Ky./Atherton) and Maddie Goelz (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) each finished with two shots.
