Tickner To Represent Wittenberg At NFHCA DIII Senior Game
Wittenberg’s defender Zara Tickner has been selected to represent the Tigers as an alternate at the NFHCA DIII Senior Game.
Springfield, Ohio – The 2017 Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game roster was announced on Wednesday with 72 student-athletes selected as either participants or alternates for the contest held on Nov. 18 at 5 p.m. (Eastern) at Bellarmine University.
Wittenberg's defender Zara Tickner has been selected to represent the Tigers as an alternate at the NFHCA DIII Senior Game, capping off a successful career in the red and white.
"We are excited for Zara to receive this recognition; her individual defensive skills and game understanding are among the best; her steady voice directs our entire team as she coaches from within the field. She and our entire senior class have been a huge part of our program." Head Coach Kelley Hubbell said.
Spanning her four-years covering the back line for the Wittenberg defense, Tickner has represented the Tigers at the Pan-American Maccabi Games Participant and has been a NFHCA National Academic Squad Selection on multiple occasions. Tickner has twice earned All-Great Lakes Region honors. In 2015, Tickner followed up her All-NCAC Honorable mention with a Second Team All-NCAC Defensive Team award.
With two goals and two defensive saves on the season, Tickner has helped the Tigers on both sides of the ball. Wittenberg is currently on a six-game winning streak, the longest since they won eight-straight in 2010.
