RICHMOND, IND – Wittenberg's field hockey team traveled to Earlham College to take on Marian University out of Wisconsin on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Darrell Beane Stadium in a non-conference matchup.
Marian scored one goal in each of the first three periods and two in the final frame to capture a 5-1 victory over Wittenberg. Ebony Wyse (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy) scored the Tigers' lone goal at the 47:49 mark to cut the lead at the time to 3-1. Wyse led the team in shots with two, both on goal. Marian was able to control the match throughout and tallied 22 total shots on the day, 19 on goal to claim the 'W.'
With the loss, the Tigers drop to 0-4 for the season and 0-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). The Sabres remain unbeaten on the season at 4-0, having defeated three NCAC teams this season in Kenyon, Wooster, and now Wittenberg.
