Bio
Bella Cowen joined the Wittenberg Field Hockey coaching staff as a graduate assistant in August 2025 under Head Coach Brighid Kortyna.
Cowen concluded her collegiate career at Allegheny College and graduated with Latin Honors, Cum Laude, in May 2025. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business with Honors and a minor in Writing.
On the field, she started 38 of her 56 career games, ending with 16 goals, six assists, and 38 points in her career after leading the Gators in goals and points as a senior. At the end of her first season (2021), Cowen earned NCAC Newcomer of the Year, First-Team All-NCAC, and NFHCA All-Region VI Second Team. She was also named the Allegheny College Women’s Newcomer Athlete of the Year in 2021 by the Athletics Department Staff. For the 2024-2025 season, she was selected by her team as both the Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Player Offensive Player.
Her success in the classroom consisted of being named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad (2021), NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award (2021), NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad for the first semester of (2022), NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad (2023), NCAC Dr. Gordon Collins Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll (2024-2025), and she was also recognized as a CSC Academic All-District selection (2024-2025).
