Bio

Maddie Passarella joined the Wittenberg University field hockey coaching staff in 2024. She serves as the team's goalkeepers coach.

In Passarella's first year on the staff, the Tigers got off to a tremendous start, winning the first nine games of the 2024 season. Wittenberg finished in the top four in the league standings to qualify for the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) standings before falling in a tight game to top-seeded Denison. After the season, Head Coach Brighid Kortyna and Passarella were named NCAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

A 2019 graduate of Miami University, Passarella also obtained her master's degree from Miami in 2021. As a student-athlete in the RedHawks' program, Passarella was named first-team All-Mid-American Conference in 2017 and second-team All-MAC in 2018. She also earned MAC All-Tournament team honors in 2017 after earning MAC Player of the Week twice during that season. In 2018, Passarella's goals against average of 1.05 ranked sixth in the nation as she recorded nine shutouts and two shared shutouts, including one in the first round of the NCAA Division I Tournament against nationally ranked Boston University. Her GAA in 2018 ranks sixth in program history, and she also ranks second in shutouts for a season.
