Tigers Hit Their Stride in Big Win Over Kenyon
The Tigers dominated in a true team-effort at Pam Evans Smith Arena, downing the Lords 76-53, improving to 6-3 and 3-2 overall.
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—Wittenberg men's basketball snapped out of their recent funk with a big win against the Lords of Kenyon on a chilly Monday night in Springfield. The Tigers dominated in a true team-effort at Pam Evans Smith Arena, downing the Lords 76-53. Chad Roy and Jaelin Williams combined for 30 points on the night, in a game where the Tigers lead by as many as 25 points. Wittenberg improves to 5-3 overall with a NCAC record of 2-2. The Tigers play their final game before the holiday break against the Student Princes of Heidelberg University on December 22.
GAME NOTES
- The Tigers shot the ball extremely well on Monday night, pouring in shot after shot in the first half at 52% and followed up things up in the second half at 48%.
- Wittenberg's leading scorer was Williams, as the senior guard knocked down 17 points, including three of four shots from deep, pacing the Tigers in that category.
- As a team, the Tigers shot 27-54 (50%) from the field in the game, coming off of 14 assists.
- Jordan Pumroy and Michael Morgan Jr. were all over the court for the Tigers on Monday, as the freshman duo hauled in eight rebounds, dished out five assists, and recorded three steals.
- Wittenberg outrebounded Kenyon 39-26 in the game, and outscored the Lords 42-14 in the paint.
