SPRINGFIELD, OH - Wittenberg Men's Basketball pulled away in the second half to secure a victory over visiting Wilmington by a final score of 82-65.
The win was Wittenberg's second in a row at home after starting the season with a loss at Otterbein. Wilmington lost for the first time in the 2025-26 season after opening the campaign with a win over Earlham.
The two teams spent the first half trading the lead before Nick Kaiser (Beavercreek, OH / Beavercreek) beat the final buzzer with a three-pointer to stake the Tigers to a 34-31 lead. After Wilmington took a 39-38 lead early in the second half, Wittenberg put together a 9-2 run to move back in front. The Quakers could get no closer than four points the rest of the way.
Eddie Brown (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy Orange) led the way for the Tigers with 20 points and six rebounds. He was joined in double figures by Dawson Scott (New Castle, IN / New Castle) with 14 points to go along with 12 rebounds, and freshman Jace Wardlow (Bowling Green, KY / Bowling Green) with 10 points off the bench. After missing his first three shots in the game, Kyle Kenney (Centerville, OH / Little Miami) came up big in the second half with three three-pointers to help the Tigers creation separation.
Wittenberg's defense was stellar, as the Quakers were limited to 31.5% shooting from the field, including a 3-of-22 performance from three-point range. The Tigers also did the job on the boards in the game, outrebounding the Quakers by a 45-39 margin.
Wittenberg hits the road for its next game on November 19 at Adrian.
