CLEVELAND, Ohio — Wittenberg University freshman Garrett Smith capped an outstanding freshman season with a third-place finish in the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield. That was good for first-team All-NCAC honors.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Allegheny College rallied from a five-stroke deficit in the final round to capture the 2006 North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield, Ohio. The Gators used a final-round 294 in the 54-hole competition to overtake four-time defending champion Ohio Wesleyan University, which carded a 304 in the third round. Allegheny shot an 895 to take its ninth conference title, compared to a 900 for Ohio Wesleyan and a 922 for host and third-place finisher Wittenberg.

For the first time in 12 years, Wittenberg University will play host to the North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship Tournament. For the first time ever, Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield will be the site, with play beginning with 8 a.m. tee times Friday, April 28.

The likely color of choice for the 2005-06 edition of the Wittenberg Tiger men's golf team is green. Since four of the top five scorers on the team heading into the spring season are freshmen getting their first taste of collegiate golf, there couldn't be a more appropriate hue.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg men’s and women’s golf teams have just about put the finishing touches on the annual fall season, with the women scheduled to play in their fifth and final event on Sunday at John Carroll. The men wrapped things up with a sixth-place finish in a tough 15-team field at Denison last weekend.
