DELAWARE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers wrapped up their North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) tune-up at Ohio Wesleyan's Strimer Memorial Tournament with a combined total of 623 to land sixth in the field. Through difficult scoring conditions on Day 2, the Tigers held off a number of surging NCAC opponents to take second-best among the conference teams in competition.
Freshman Ricky Boerner (Hilliard, Ohio/Watterson) backed up his opening-day 74 with an identical mark in the second round to climb the individual rankings up to fourth. Meanwhile, classmate Brian Rolland (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) did what very few could do in the conditions - drop his Day 1 score from a 79 to a 75 for a 154 total.
Freshman Jordan Millice (Cable, Ohio/Triad) shared team-low honors with a 74 on Day 1 before returning with an 83 to close out the weekend.
Senior Dan Buchan (Dublin, Ohio/Worthington Christian) added a 76 on Day 1 and an 88 one day later to help the Tigers to a 320 total on Day 2, and a combined score of 623.
With a pair of NCAC Championship Series events on the horizon, the Tigers set their focus on the first one upcoming this weekend, April 18-19 from Wabash College and the Trophy Club.
