Men Picked Second, Women Fourth in NCAC Pre-Championship Golf Polls

The Wittenberg men's golf team was picked to finish second in the 2026 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships, while the Tiger women were picked fourth, based on balloting by the league's head coaches.
Wittenberg received one first place vote and 53 points in the NCAC Men's Golf Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll. Kenyon was picked to win the league championship, receiving the remaining seven first-place votes and 63 points. John Carroll was picked third with 50 points.
Wittenberg received 29 points in the NCAC Women's Golf Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll. Denison was selected as the favorite with all seven first-place votes and 49 points. DePauw was picked second with 42 points and Kenyon was in third with 32 total points.
Under the direction of Head Coach David Wetterich, both Wittenberg teams have had another outstanding year to this point in 2025-26. The NCAC Championships are scheduled for May 1-3, with the men competing at Avalon Lakes Golf Course in Warren, Ohio, and the women competing at Squaw Creek in Vienna, Ohio. John Carroll University will serve as the host institution for the 54-hole tournament, with 18 holes being played each day across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Tiger men are seeking to win their 14th conference title in program history. Wittenberg is the defending champion, and for the women, Denison will be defending its 2025 championship. The Tiger women are seeking the fourth conference title in program history and their first since winning three straight from 2015-2017.
This season, the Tiger men earned a first place finish in the Jeff Roope Invitational at Springfield Country Club in October 2025. The Tigers currently rank 26th nationally in the most recent Scoreboard rankings. There are currently two golfers on the men's roster ranked in the top 100 nationally with Mikey Schutte (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) at 48 and Mitch Bolte (Newark, OH / Newark) at 68.
The Tiger women took first three times, winning the Irish Hills Invitational, JCU Women's Fall Classic, and the Jeff Roope Invitational as well. The Tigers currently rank 67 in the nation, according to Scoreboard. The women's team currently has two athletes in the top 300, both sophomores, with Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome) currently ranked 214 and Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg) at 300.
