ADRIAN, Mich. - Off the heels of their lowest offense output of the season, the Tiger offense erupted in the first half against Adrian, overwhelming the Bulldogs in a 19-9 road win. Four different players recorded at least a hat trick on the afternoon as Wittenberg improved to 5-2 on the season.
Spearheading the attack, sophomore Mitch Cohagan (Pickerington, Ohio/North)ran off a team-high five goals on eight shots. His production mirrored the rest of his compatriots, as the Tigers outshot Adrian 46-24.
Classmate Chris Gipson (Naperville, Ill./Neaqua Valley) enjoyed a breakout game, recording four goals, including the first in the second half. However, while Gipson and Cohagan enjoyed the spotlight, junior Jeff Capella (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) ran things behind the scenes, providing assists on four Tiger markers while scoring once himself.
Head Coach George Harris' men finally return to Edwards-Maurer Field for a Saturday, April 4, clash with conference rival Kenyon. The 1 p.m. start serves as the main event for the lacrosse alumni weekend, which begins at 9:30 a.m. with the alumni game.
