Adrian Downs Wittenberg in Men’s Lacrosse, 13-7
ADRIAN, MI. – Wittenberg's Men's Lacrosse was dealt a loss on the road at the hands of Adrian, 13-7, in a non-conference match at the Sweebe Center Indoor Facility at Adrian on Saturday, Feb. 28.
The Tigers turned in a great first-half effort, matching Adrian score by score, with each team striking for two goals in the first and four more in the second and leaving things knotted at 6-all at the intermission. However, Adrian tightened up its defense in the second half, allowing Wittenberg just one goal and that came in the final frame. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs would blow things open by putting a five-spot on the board in the third that would eventually seal the victory.
Wittenberg put forth a balanced scoring effort, getting goals from six different players, with Ethan Pac (Greenwood, IN / Cathedral) leading the way with two goals. He also added two assists and 12 shots, five on goal.
Other players getting in on the scoring included Tripp Salowich (Plymouth, MI / Canton), Charlie Boucuvalas(Oakwood, OH / Oakwood), Charlie Frederick (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls), Travis Demsher (Santa Clarita, CA / West Ranch), and Ty Harris (Cincinnati, OH / Sycamore). Salowich had four shots, four on goal, while Harris had seven shots and four on goal. Clay Habben (Shawnee, KS / Shawnee Mission Northwest) also added seven shots, five on goal.
Goalkeeper Griffin Howell (Whitestown, IN / Zionsville Community) tallied nine saves on 22 shots faced.
With the loss, the Tigers fall to 0-3 on the season, while Adrian picks up its first win and is now 1-4 overall. Adrian defeated Witt last year, 15-10, and with today's win, leads the series at 6-5.
