Tiger Offense Sputters in Loss to Rhodes
Memphis, TN-The Tigers traveled to Memphis to take on the Rhodes College Lynx as they looked to build on their home win against Muskingum. Despite a close couple of quarters to start the competition, Wittenberg's offense struggled to keep pace with Rhodes and eventually lost by a score of 17-6.
The Tigers had the first quarter edge as Jackson Lane (Findlay, OH / Findlay) answered the first goal of the game from Rhodes and Noah Baker (Hiram, OH / Crestwood) made it two straight for the Tigers. Freshman Matthew Patterson (Columbus, OH / Westerville South) became the thrid different Tiger to score in the quarter and put the Tigers up by one again. In the second, Ty Harris (Cincinnati, OH / Sycamore) scored his first goal of three on the day to complete a hat trick for the third consecutive game. As the second half started, the Tigers faced a two goal deficit, but four straight goals after halftime put the game out of reach for the Tigers. Harris scored back to back goals, but afterwards, the Tigers were held scoreless for the last 20 minutes.
