ALBION, MI - The Wittenberg men's lacrosse team dropped a road contest to Albion on Saturday afternoon by a score of 15-8.
Albion jumped out to an early 5-0 lead before the Tigers got on the board late in the first quarter as Travis Demsher (Santa Clarita, CA / West Ranch) scored Wittenberg's first goal of the game. Ty Harris (Cincinnati, OH / Sycamore) followed shortly after to cut the deficit to 5-2, but the Tigers continued to play from behind the remainder of the contest.
Wittenberg found most of its offensive success in the second half, but Albion maintained control throughout and held on for the seven-goal victory. The Tigers held a slight advantage in total shots, finishing with 54 compared to Albion's 48. Wittenberg went 13-for-25 on faceoffs.
Griffin Howell (Whitestown, IN / Zionsville Community) recorded 11 saves in goal for the Tigers. Offensively, Tripp Salowich (Plymouth, MI / Canton) led the way with two goals and five shots on goal. Demsher added two goals with four shots on goal, while Quentin Rudolph (Grand Rapids, MI / Forest Hills Central) also finished with two goals and three shots on goal.
Wittenberg will return to action Wednesday, April 22 at DePauw for their last road matchup of the season.
