Tigers Wrap Up Road Trip With Loss To Carthage
After loss to Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday, Wittenberg caps trip to Carthage for "Battle on the Border" with 4-1 defeat against host team.

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wittenberg Tigers fell behind in the opening minutes and never recovered in a 4-1 loss to Carthage on the final day of the Redmen's "Battle on the Border."
Wittenberg fell to 2-5-2 on the season, heading into a home date against Bluffton on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Carthage improved to 4-4. Both teams were beaten by Wisconsin-Whitewater during the weekend as part of the event.
Carthage jumped on top just 1:18 into the game, and with 10:20 left before halftime the Redmen snatched a two-goal advantage. Carthage added goals in the 66th and 76th minutes before Wittenberg finally got on the board with a tally by sophomore Nick Foley (Fishers, Ind./Cathedral) at the 86-minute mark. The assist on the play went to freshman Alberto Zaragoza (New Carlisle, Ohio/Tecumseh).
Carthage held a commanding 26-12 advantage in shots, and the Redmen were awarded seven corner kicks, to five for Wittenberg. Foley led the Tigers with three shots, while Zaragoza and sophomore Cameron Ferguson (Westerville, Ohio/South) each fired twice on the opposing goal.
In net, freshman Jack Snider (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek) picked up a collegiate-best 11 saves in the game before giving way to freshman Hunter Bock (Pataskala, Ohio/Watkins Memorial), who saw his first career action in the Red & White.
