Springfield, OH - Wittenberg Men's Soccer battled back to earn a 1-1 draw with Transylvania on Tuesday night at Edwards-Maurer Field.
The Pioneers struck early with a goal in the opening minutes, but the Tigers controlled the pace the rest of the way while outshooting their opponent 18-4 and generating multiple chances before finally breaking through late. After controlling most of the second half, the Tigers finally broke through in the 83rd minute. Asher Donahue (Muncie, IN / Burris Laboratory School), scored the tying goal, his fourth of the season, on an assist by Christopher Meyer (Toledo, OH / St. Francis).
Wittenberg controlled play throughout the match, limiting Transylvania to just two shots in each half while the Tigers unleashed 17 after the break. Wittenberg created chances, sustained pressure, and played strong defensively which helped keep the Tigers in control.
With the draw, the Tigers' move to 5-0-3, extending their season-opening unbeaten streak to eight games while continuing to showcase a solid mix of offensive firepower and defensive consistency.
