Men's Swim Team Falls Short in Season Opener
Hiram, OH - The Tiger men's swimming and diving team headed up to Hiram to take on the Terriers in their season opener and came up just short, falling by a score of 146-91. Overall, the team was able to come away with five total first place finishes with Mason Steen (Leroy, OH / Riverside) and Owen Gabel (New Bremen, OH / New Bremen) led the way with two solo first-place finishes each, along with the top spot in a relay as well.
The first top finish went to Gabel, as he finished with a time of 1:08.73 in the 100 meter backstroke. Steen took first in the 100 meter backstroke in 1:14.75. Then, Gabel notched first place in the one meter diving competition witha score of 117.44. Steen took first once again in the 200 meter backstroke with a time of 2:46.71. The Tigers were able to close out the meet on a good note, as the 400 meter freestyle relay team of Gabel, Steen, Tatum Paglia (Indianapolis, IN / Ben Davis) and Nathan Rabun (Marion, OH / Wynford) added another first place finish in a time of 3:58.06.
Next up, the Tigers will take on Transylvania and Wilmington at a double dual meet at Wilmington on Saturday, November 1st at 1:00 PM.
