Tiger Relays Perform Well on Day One of Conference Championships
GRANVILLE, OH - After competing in a pair of relays on Day 1 of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Swimming and Diving Championship meet at Denison University, the Tigers logged a few impressive relay finishes. As a result, the Tiger women currently sit in fifth place with a total of 110 points and the men are in ninth with 48 points.
The men logged all 48 points of the day in the 200-yard medley relay with a ninth-place finish in 1:45.95 recorded by the team of Nathan Rabun (Marion, OH / Wynford), Mason Steen (Leroy, OH / Riverside), Tatum Paglia (Indianapolis, IN / Ben Davis) and Orry Farrington (Waterville, OH / Anthony Wayne).
The women's 800-yard freestyle relay team of Annie Gammon (Cincinnati, OH / Cincinnati Country Day), Elisabeth Josellis (Warsaw, IN / Warsaw Community), Allison Browning (Hillsboro, OH / Hillsboro) and McKenna Clark (Waynesville, OH / Carroll) dropped 6.5 seconds off their season-best time and finished in 8:21.77 to take seventh place and score 52 points. In the 200-yard medley relay, the team finished fourth and dropped 1.2 seconds from their season-best for a time of 1:50.13. The team of Shania Stone (Cincinnati, OH / Princeton), Lilly Cook (Rensselaer, IN / Rensselaer Central), Teagan O'Connor (Fort Wayne, IN / Carroll) and Browning were highlighted by Stone splitting 28.6 seconds in the 50 breaststroke and O'Connor splitting 26 flat in the 50 butterfly.
The NCAC Championships continue tomorrow, February 12, with prelims beginning at 9:30 a.m. as the Tigers look to continue building on their day one races.
