Wittenberg Falls At Conference Power Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers were overmatched by the one of the powerhouse teams of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region, Denison, by a final score of 9-0.
The Tigers dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-4 in the NCAC with the defeat. Denison improved to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
No Wittenberg player managed more than five games in a match. The most successful Tigers, in terms of games won, were sophomores Rob Lehner (Gahanna, Ohio/DeSales) and Craig Lods (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe), who were defeated 8-5 at No. 2 doubles. Lehner was beaten 8-1 at No. 4 singles and Lods went down 8-1 at No. 5 singles.
Wittenberg will attempt to end a two-match losing skid against NCAC rival Wabash and NAIA scholarship rival Cedarville on Saturday, back home in the friendly confines of the Georgiana Albright Tennis Complex.
