Tigers Sweep The Other 'Berg In Fall Dual Match Finale
The Wittenberg men's tennis team got down to business with a 9-0 sweep of visiting Heidelberg Saturday, capping the fall dual match schedule to move to 3-0 on the season. The early slate concludes with a flighted tournament at Wright State on Saturday, Oct. 9, and Sunday, Oct. 10.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg men's tennis team got down to business with a 9-0 sweep of visiting Heidelberg Saturday, capping the fall dual match schedule to move to 3-0 on the season. The early slate concludes with a flighted tournament at Wright State on Saturday, Oct. 9, and Sunday, Oct. 10.
The Tigers made quick work of the doubles portion, winning all three matches by a combined score of 24-4. At No. 1, freshman Tyler Strong (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual) and senior Bobby Fisher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) won 8-2, while freshman Sam Wilke (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) and sophomore Sergio Fishkin (Minsk, Belarus) won in straight sets at No. 2. The third team, sophomore Stuart Zorn (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming) and freshman Jonathon Mueller (Bexley, Ohio/Hartley) won 8-2.
The singles portion followed in much the same manner. Only freshman Joseph Marra (Great Falls, Mont./Great Falls) dropped a set before going on to win in a 10-5 tiebreaker. Fishkin was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at No. 1, followed by Fisher in the second slot, Marra in the third, Strong with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep in fourth, Wilke in fifth and Mueller at sixth singles.
