HILTON HEAD, SC — The Wittenberg men's tennis team made it a clean sweep of a Spring Break Wednesday, picking up 9-0 victories over Susquehanna and Regis.
The wins moved the Tigers to 8-2 on the 2011-12 season, heading into their final two matches of their annual Spring Break trip on Thursday.
Against Susquehanna, the Tigers simply dominated, dropping just six games in three doubles matches and 11 games in six singles matches. Freshman Alexey Topolyanskiy (Moscow, Russia), sophomore Sam Wilke (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin), sophomore Tyler Strong (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual) and sophomore Jonathan Mueller (Bexley, Ohio/Hartley) were all winners in both singles and doubles in the match.
Against Regis, the Tigers were pushed a little harder but still won without dropping a set. Strong, Topolyanskiy and Jialang Woo (Shanghai, China) were all double-winners in the match.
