Tigers Drop NCAC West Decision To Denison
Wittenberg falls to 11-7 overall and 2-2 in the NCAC West Division following 6-0 defeat against the Big Red.
GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers lost 6-0 to North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) West rival Denison.
The match was moved indoors to Denison's Mitchell Fieldhouse due to snowfall the previous night and unseasonably cold temperatures. Since both the men's and women's matches were to be played, both coaches agreed to play the match to decision rather than completion, and also to start with singles matches instead of the customary doubles.
In the singles matches, Denison took care of things, winning all six matches in straight sets. The Big Red improved to 11-5 overall and 2-0 in the NCAC West, while Wittenberg fell to 11-7 overall and 2-2 in the division.
