SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers returned to action after an extended break and suffered an 8-1 loss to Capital in a non-conference match.
The loss dropped Wittenberg to 5-8 on the season. The match kicked off a busy stretch of home matches for the Tigers, who will host five opponents in a seven-day span.
The homestand started with a doubles sweep by Capital, and the Crusaders carried the momentum over to the singles competition as well. Only freshman Timmy McNulty (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) was able to break through as he won the No. 3 position in three sets.
