Tiger Men's Tennis Falls to Transylvania, 6-1
DAYTON, OH – Wittenberg's Men's Tennis fell to Transylvania, 6-1, on Saturday, March 1, in a match played indoors at Five Seasons Family Racquet Club in Dayton.
As the host team, Wittenberg came out tough in doubles, taking two out of three matches, but the Tigers couldn't carry that momentum into the singles as Transylvania swept all six spots.
Bright spots in the loss were Ethan Libby (Loveland, OH / Loveland) and Jacob Bennett (Pickerington, OH / Pickerington Central) at first doubles, winning 6-3, while Justin Hardie (Centerville, OH / Centerville) and Kyle Fout (Gahanna, OH / Gahanna Lincoln) also picked up a 6-2 win at second doubles to secure the point. At third doubles, Andrew Garofoli (Springboro, OH / Springboro) and Benjamin Glassman (Woodbridge, CT / Amity Regional) were defeated 6-1.

- Court 1: Libby lost 6-3, 6-3
- Court 2: Bennett lost 6-0, 6-2
- Court 3: Hardie lost 6-2, 6-0
- Court 4: Fout lost 6-4, 6-1
- Court 5: Garofoli lost 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8)
- Court 6: Glassman lost 6-0, 6-2
With the loss, Wittenberg drops to 0-3 on the season, while Transylvania picked up its first win of the season to improve to 1-3. Next up, the Tigers will host Otterbein on Sunday, March 2, also at Five Seasons Racquet Club.
