Four Tigers & Both Tennis Teams Earn ITA All-Academic Honors

SPRINGFIELD, OH - Wittenberg's men's and women's tennis teams earned both individual and team academic awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the organization announced on Wednesday, July 15. Both teams were honored as All-Academic Teams, while two individual men's players and two individual women's players were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

A total of 1,151 NCAA Division III men's student-athletes and 1,309 women's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes following the 2025-26 season. A total of 147 men’s tennis programs and 177 women's tennis programs were awarded All-Academic Team distinction.

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements: have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letterwinners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, players must meet the following requirements: have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. Representing Wittenberg Men's Tennis as ITA Scholar-Athletes for 2025-26 were Benjamin Glassman (Woodbridge, CT / Amity Regional)and Daniel Patel (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler Area), while representing the women are Marin Summers (Columbus, OH / Hilliard Davison) and Grace Tyler (Christiansburg, OH / St. Paris Graham).

Originally founded in 1956, the ITA is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at all levels, including NCAA Divisions I, II and III, as well as NAIA institutions and junior and community colleges.
