Men's Outdoor Track and Field competes at Mount Union Last Chance Meet

ALLIANCE — The Wittenberg men's outdoor track and field team posted three top-five finishes at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet on Thursday.
The Basics
- Venue: Kehres Stadium - Alliance, Ohio
- Wittenberg competed in five events at the meet, which was not team scored.
- Thursday was the final day for student-athletes to post qualifying times for the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which is scheduled for May 23-25 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Wittenberg's Top Performers
- Junior Justin Norris (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown Christian) finished second in the high jump with a mark of 1.96 meters. Sophomore Grayson Ring (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) was fourth with a mark of 1.91 meters. Ring added a 14th-place finish in the 200 in 22.53 seconds.
- Junior Cameron Elliott (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) was fourth in the 400 meters in 49.44 seconds.
- In the discus, freshman Jayden McKinster (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) was sixth with a mark of 47.34 meters, and freshman Troy Crosby (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) was 13th with a mark of 38.69 meters.
- Freshman Owen Bier (Elyria, Ohio/Midview) was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in 56.95 seconds.
National Qualifiers
- Based on national rankings, the top 22 individuals in each event and top 16 relay teams will qualify for the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. National qualifiers will be announced on Friday via press release here.
- Entering Thursday, Wittenberg had one student-athlete in position to qualify for the national meet, as junior Conor Kolka (Dexter, Mich./Dexter) was 15th in the 10,000 meters with a time of 29:42.25.
