Tiger Trio Claim All-America Awards at NCAA Indoor Championships
BIRMINGHAM, AL - Day 2 of the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships brought more good news for the Wittenberg Tigers as Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH / Springfield) and Kory Davis (Brookville, OH / Brookville) both ran well in their finals races and claimed All-America awards in the process.
Elliott, a graduate student in Wittenberg's sport administration masters program, finished third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 47.52 seconds to put an exclamation point on his first career appearance at a national championship event. Davis, a sophomore who was injured for most of his first intercollegiate season, placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.18 seconds as he also impressed in his first career appearance at a national championship event.
Elliott (pictured left) and Davis combined to score nine points for Wittenberg as a team. As a result, the Tigers finished in a tie for 18th as a team.
Elliott, who recorded the third-fastest time in the prelims on Friday, ran in the first of two heats of the 400-meter dash finals, and he took the top spot in a photo finish over Evan Lowder of Illinois Wesleyan. The second heat featured the top two runners from the prelims, and both of those competitors, Collin Conzemius of Wisconsin-Lacrosse and Grant Nelson of Bethel (Minnesota), topped Elliott's time to take the top two spots in the final standings.
Davis (pictured right) came into the finals with the eight-fastest time in the prelims, a school-record 8.09 seconds. While he didn't exceed that mark in the finals, he did move up two spots in the race. Gunner Meyer of Central College (Iowa) won the event, followed by Kwaku Nkrumah of Rowan.
Top-eight finishers in each event earn All-America honors, making both Elliott and Davis the latest Tigers to claim the prestigious national recognition. Wittenberg has now had seven first-team men's indoor track and field All-Americans in program history, dating back to Skip Ivery's second-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles in 2003. Elliott's third-place finish is the second-highest in program history, trailing only Ivery.
In addition, Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls) earned second-team All-America honors after finishing 12th in the 400-meter dash on Friday. Finishers between ninth and 16th place in an event at a national meet are recognized with second-team All-America awards (second team awards were first introduced in 2024). Kittle, who earned a pair of All-America designations - one first-team and one second-team - at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, became the first Wittenberg student-athlete to get second-team indoor All-America honors.
"It's always a blessing to be able to end the season at the NCAA championship meet," said Wittenberg Men's and Women's Track & Field Head Coach Paris Hilliard. "Being able to come back to Witt with three All-American honors is a huge accomplishment.
"I am so happy for these guys. They deserve it! Hopefully this will catapult our team into the outdoor season."
