Three Tigers Recognized as Academic All-District by CSC
SPRINGFIELD, OH - Wittenberg had three student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Men’s Cross Country and Track and Field Academic All-District team for the 2025-26 season, the CSC announced Tuesday. Named to the team were graduate student Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH / Springfield), senior Zayden Taylor (Springfield, OH / Kenton Ridge) and junior Lukas Rieben (Clayton, OH / Northmont).
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. To earn CSC Academic All-District distinction, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in class standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 while ranking inside the top 50 in a single event in their respective region. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The Academic All-America team will be announced on Wednesday, July 15.
Elliott is a sport administration master's degree student with a 3.69 GPA. In both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons, he earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), All-Great Lakes, and All-America honors and was a national qualifier. During the indoor season, he competed in the 200-meter dash, ranking 10th regionally and first in the region, and he was third in the nation in the 400-meter dash. He was also part of the team’s 4x400-meter relay team, which ranked third in the region and 35th in the nation. Elliott ranked 35th in the region in the 200-meter dash in the outdoor season and was sixth regionally, and he ranked 30th nationally in the 400-meter dash. As part of the 4x100-meter team, he added a fifth regional and 32nd national ranking. As part of the 4x400-meter team, he added another number one regional rank and 8th national ranking.
Taylor is an exercise science major with a 3.82 GPA. Taylor competed in the cross country season in the fall, in which he concluded the season with a 69th overall finish in the NCAC Championships. In both the indoor and outdoor track and field season, he competed in the 800-meter run, ranking 18th in the region indoor and finished the outdoor season ranked 36th in the region.
Rieben is double majoring in information systems and computer science with a 3.67 GPA. After not competing in the cross country season due to injury, Rieben ranked in the top 10 regionally in each of the events he participated in during the track and field season. In the indoor season, he ranked fourth in the region in the 3,000-meter run and fifth in the region in the 5,000-meter run. During the outdoor season, he ranked 9th in the region in the 1,500-meter run and was first in the region in both the 5,000 and 10,000-meter run, additionally ranking 44th in the nation in the latter.
