Five Tigers Qualify for NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships
SPRINGFIELD, OH - Five Wittenberg Men's and Women's Track & Field student-athletes have qualified to compete in the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse May 21-23.
On the women’s side, sophomore Cayla Eaton (North Lewisburg, OH / Triad) will be making her first national championship appearance after a phenomenal 2025-26 season that included multiple individual North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) titles. She will be competing in the high jump after setting a personal-best mark of 1.69 meters in the event at the Augustana (IL) Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier on May 14. That mark puts Eaton 14th in the nation in the event.
For the men, the Tigers have qualified for the national meet in the 4x400-meter. The quartet of senior Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH / Springfield), junior Owen Bier (Elyria, OH / Midview), sophomore Kory Davis (Brookville, OH / Brookville), and sophomore Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls) finished second at Augustana with a school-record time of 3:10.75, which ended up ranking seventh nationally.
Davis also qualified to compete in the 110-meter hurdles after earning All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships with a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in March. He has the 18th-fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles in NCAA Division III at 14.17 seconds.
Kittle will be competing in both the 400-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. His 200 meter time in the 11th-best in the nation at 21.06 seconds and his 400-meter time of 46.56 ranks sixth. This will be Kittle's fourth NCAA Championships appearance. Most recently, he earned first-team All-America in the 200-meter dash and second-team All-America in the 400-meter dash at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in March.
