SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—Wittenberg men's volleyball hit the road for a back and forth affair between Wisconsin and Illinois against some of the nation's best competition over the weekend. Wittenberg squared off against #14 Dominican and #3 Stevens, before ending the weekend against MCVL opponent Benedictine. Wittenberg lost each match 3-0, but showed great growth amongst some of the nation's top juggernauts.
WEEKEND NOTES
- Carter Schmidt stepped up big for the Tigers against Benedictine, recording 12 of the Tigers 34 kills in the match, while recording one block-assist.
- Against arguably the best team in the country, Dylan Kolovitz chipped in nine kills against #3 Stevens, as Schmidt chipped in another seven on the weekend.
- Joel Sotos paced the Tigers against Benedictine, as the sophomore from Dublin, Ohio recorded 14 kills and three digs in the Tiger's loss.
- Noah Wissel led the Tiger's offense all weekend, recording matches of nine, eight and 19 assists.
- Ross Russell chipped in 16 assists against Benedictine, as he recorded matches o 22 and 16 assists prior to the final match of the weekend.

"Stevens proved why they are the #3 team in the nation. It was great to see that standard of play across the net, and battle hard in set 3. Benedictine was a gut-check for us. Learning how to win on the road will is a skill we still need to develop," said Coach Labrador.
