Wittenberg Announces Search For New Men’s Volleyball Coach
Springfield, Ohio – Wittenberg University Vice President and Director of Athletics and Recreation Brian Agler has announced that Ryan Thompson, head coach of the Tiger men's volleyball program since 2018, has resigned his position.
Since arriving at Wittenberg, Thompson guided the Tigers to a 44-49 record in four seasons. In 2019, Wittenberg posted records of 21-11 overall and 11-3 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, good for a regular-season championship. Most recently, the Tigers returned to the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League and posted records of 2-15 overall and 1-15 in league play during the shortened 2021 season.
Thompson previously coached at his alma mater, Carthage College. During his years as an assistant coach, Carthage won four regular-season conference titles and two conference tournament championships.
A national search for Thompson's replacement will begin immediately.
