Tigers Picked to Finish Ninth In NCAC Pre-Championship Poll

CLEVELAND, OH - Wittenberg University's men's cross country team has been picked to finish ninth and the women's cross country team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships, which will take place on Saturday, November 1, at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. The pre-championship polls are based on voting by the league's coaches.
The men's 8K race will begin at 11 a.m., followed by th ewomen’s 6K race at 12:15 p.m.
Based on pre-championship balloting by league coaches, Kenyon's men were tabbed as the favorites to win the title after receiving seven first-place votes and 79 total points to narrowly edge out John Carroll with two first-place votes and 71 points. Denison was picked third with 61 points, followed by Oberlin, DePauw, Wabash, Wooster, Ohio Wesleyan, and Wittenberg, which placed second a year ago.
The Ohio Wesleyan women earned six first-place votes and totaled 62 points to take the top spot in the pre-event poll. John Carroll is picked to finish second with two first-place votes and 57 points overall, followed by DePauw with 48 points and Wittenberg, which finished second last year, with 41 points. Rounding things out in the women's poll are Denison, Kenyon, Oberlin, and Wooster.
