Tigers Return to NCAC Play to Start Off 2016
Wittenberg traveled to Hiram University Saturday afternoon and dropped the decision 62-44.

HIRAM, Ohio—Wittenberg Women's Basketball was in NCAC action for the first time in 2016 as the Tigers traveled to Hiram University Saturday afternoon. Wittenberg had not been in NCAC action since December 12 after coming off of end of the academic semester finals and the Charles B. Zimmerman Memorial Classic. The Tigers dropped Saturday's game 62-44 to move to 2-1 overall in NCAC play.
GAME BREAKDOWN
- Hiram got of to a fast start, taking the Tigers on a 5-0 run to start the game, before Wittenberg came roaring back with a 5-0 run of their own.
- After a back and forth first-quarter, the Tigers trailed at the half 34-22.
- Wittenberg was led by Taylore Bundy, (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) who enjoyed an offensive outburst in the first-half, totaling 12 points and five rebounds.
- For the game, Bundy led the Tigers in both points and rebounds, finishing Saturday afternoon's game with 17 points and eight rebounds.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Wittenberg had great bench contribution Saturday, as they found 19 of their 44 from their subs.
- The Tigers totaled nine steals in the game, as Bundy, Michelle Brunswick (Middletown, Ohio/Madison), and Becca Ziska (Brook Park, Ohio/Berea-Midpark) all had two steals a piece.
KEY STATS
- Hiram barely edged out the Tigers in the rebounding battle, 37-33.
- Despite committing 12 turnovers in the first half, Wittenberg managed to total 17 for the game, while Hiram found themselves surrendering 21 total possessions.
FROM THE BENCH
- "Tough one today. We were getting the shots we wanted but couldnt' find the bottom of the net...Big kudos to Hiram because they shot with great confience and we couldn't use our usual defensive presence to get them off rhythm. We need to move forward and be determined tomorrow to get ourselves back out there and be competitive," said Head Coach Jurewicz.

- The Tigers have a quick turnaround, as they are back in action tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. against the Gators from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA.
