Wittenberg Suffers NCAC Road Loss at DePauw
The Tigers fall to 3-3 in NCAC play after the 62-28 loss.
GREEN CASTLE, Indiana. – Wittenberg women's basketball struggled to get their offense going, as the visiting Tigers fell 62-28 to DePauw University. The loss moves the Tigers to 4-9 on the season and 3-3 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Wittenberg shot a season low from the floor tonight, at 21%. The Tigers were led by senior Taylore Bundy (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) with 14 points, knocking down 5-12, 3-6 from beyond the arc, while grabbing six rebounds.
GAME BREAKDOWN
- Wittenberg was held to below ten points before the half for the first time all season, as -the two teams went to the break at 27-7.
- Freshman Alex Kiess (Edon, Ohio/Northwest) provided assistance from the bench for Wittenberg, accounting for seven of the team's 10 bench points, and pulling in two rebounds.
- The Tigers second leading rebounder on the night Michelle Brunswick (Middletown, Ohio/Madison) was also the team's leading facilitator, earning five rebounds and three assists.
- Wittenberg scored 16 of its 28 points in the third quarter.

"We had a tough time tonight overcoming DePauw's excellent defensive pressure and could not get any kind of flow on offense. We will grow from this and regroup for a quick turnaround on the road again against Oberlin on Saturday," said Head Coach Sarah Jurewicz.
