Women’s Basketball Doubles Up On Wooster For 90-45 Road Win
WOOSTER, OH – Five players scored in double digits as Wittenberg rolled past Wooster, 90-45 in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) matchup, Saturday, Feb. 1, at Timken Gymnasium.
The Tigers led from start to finish and were never really threatened throughout the game. Fourteen players saw minutes in the big win that puts Witt at 13-6 overall and 5-3 in the NCAC. The Tiger 'D' was also strong, holding the Fighting Scots to 26 points in the first half for a 43-26 lead at the break, then to just 19 points in the second half of play and forcing the Scots into 21 turnovers on the day.
Three of five starters scored in double digits with Karsen Karlblom (Crystal Lake, IL / Prairie Ridge) having a big day leading the team in both points and rebounds with 13 and 11, respectively. She also recorded three assists. Jazmyn Gaines-Burns (Bladensburg, MD / Elizabeth Seton) dumped in 12 points and Riane Burton (Houston, TX / Cypress Ranch) added 10. Burton also had eight rebounds.
It was the Tigers' second-straight win, and they are now averaging 74.6 points per game. Wooster falls to 4-15 overall and 1-7 in the conference.

- The Tigers got important sub play with 47 points coming off the bench.
- Karley Moore (Tipp City, OH / Bethel) was key coming off the bench, tying Karlblom in points with 13. She also had four rebounds.
- Molly Mossing (Cedarville, OH / Cedarville) added 10 points and five rebounds off the bench.
- McKenna Baker (Brownsburg, IN / Bethesda Christian) also made an impact off the bench, logging a team-high four steals and scoring nine points.
