Women’s Bowling Turns in Two 5th-Place Finishes Over Weekend
GREENSBURG, PA. - Wittenberg Women's Bowling turned in good performances in a pair of weekend competitions in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Wittenberg competed in the Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Classic on Day 1 and in the Western PA Baker Shootout on Day 2. Both events took place at Hillview Lanes in Greensburg and the Tigers placed fifth out of nine teams in both events while host team Saint Vincent College took first on both days.
Wittenberg scored a total of 4,261 points behind first-place Saint Vincent, which scored 5,072 points. Rio Grande was second with 4,861, the University of Pittsburgh Bradford was third at 4,587 and Shawnee State University was fourth at 4,353.
Ryleigh Rasey (Richwood, OH / North Union) was the team's top finisher. She placed 13th with 538 total points in scores of 226, 135, and 177, for an average of 179.33 for the tournament. Grace Tyler (Christiansburg, OH / St. Paris Graham) placed 24th with scores of 156, 164, and 158 for a total of 478 for an average of 159.33. Right behind her was Bridget Capper (Springfield, OH / Springfield) in 26th place with scores of 149, 151, 169 for a total 469 and an average 156.33. Sydney Wilson (Springfield, OH / Shawnee) was 33rd with scores of 150, 151, and 126 for a total of 427 and an average of 142.33.
Wittenberg scored 4,233 points in the Western PA Baker Shootout. Saint Vincent scored 4,956 for first place; Rio Grande was again second with 4,607 points, Pittsburgh Bradford was third at 4,604, and Shawnee State was fourth at 4,436.
