Terpenning Finishes in Top 100 to Lead Tigers In Vegas Competitions
LAS VEGAS, NV – During the winter break, Wittenberg's men's and women's bowling teams traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, to compete in two tournaments. The Tigers competed in the Glenn Carlson Invitational Dec. 18-19 and in the Las Vegas Collegiate Shoot-Out on Dec. 20-21. Both tournaments took place at South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas.
In a large tournament field featuring Division I to Division III schools for both events, Jacob Terpenning (Beavercreek, OH / Beavercreek) turned in two top 100 finishes, placing 64th out of 522 bowlers with a 1,626 series in the Glenn Carlson Invitational, then grabbed 1,056 pins that was good enough for 42nd place out of 547 bowlers in the Collegiate Shoot-Out.
Jackson Hill (New Carlisle, OH / Tecumseh) was second on the team with a 1,395 series for 169th place in the Glenn Carlson event, where the men finished in 59th place overall. Landon Kegley (Springfield, OH / Northwestern) was the second finisher for the Tigers at the Collegiate Shoot-Out with an 856 series.
On the women's side Kendall Rausch (Mechanicsburg, OH / Mechanicsburg) placed in the top 100, comibg in 90th with a score of 1,346 at the Glenn Carlson Invitational. Ryleigh Rasey (Richwood, OH / North Union) wasn't far behind, coming in at No. 100 with a score of 1,341 out of a field of 292 bowlers. The Tigers placed 37th overall in the first event.
At the Las Vegas Collegiate Shoot-Out, the Tigers also placed 37th overall with Sydney Wilson (Springfield, OH / Shawnee) taking the top team spot at No. 108 with an 819. Her teammates weren't far behind with Kendall Rausch coming in at No. 111 with an 809 series and Taylor Rausch (Mechanicsburg, OH / Mechanicsburg) at 112th with the same series score.
Up next, both teams will compete in the Greater Pittsburgh Classic and the Western PA Baker Shootout on Jan. 10-11. Both tournaments will be hosted by St. Vincent College at Hillview Lanes in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
