Tiger Women's Golf Welcomes Four Recruits In Class of 2018
Jane Hopkinson-Wood, Millie Leonhard, Rachel Marks and Brianna Yee will join the program in August 2014.
Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University Women’s Golf Head Coach Jeff Roope has announced that four student-athletes will join the Tiger program in August 2014.
The new recruits join a team that finished in the top five in nine of its 10 tournaments during the 2013-14 season, including both ends of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championship Series. The Tigers earned the first-place trophy at Ohio Wesleyan’s Bump Invitational, placed second in the NCAC Championship Series and ranked in the top 25 nationally throughout the 2013-14 campaign.
Wittenberg is expected to return seven letterwinners to the roster in 2014-15, including All-NCAC honorees Macy Hubbard, Allie Lawwill, Nicole Waers and Carolyn Wong. The Tigers will begin their quest for the first national championship in program history Sept. 6-7 at Denison’s Fall Invitational at the Granville Golf Course in Granville, Ohio.
The new recruits are:
- Jane Hopkinson-Wood (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School)
- Millie Leonhard (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern)
- Rachel Marks (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty)
- Brianna Yee (Las Vegas, Nev./Faith Lutheran)
