Macy Hubbard of Wittenberg Women's Golf becomes the second tiger during the 2016-17 academic year to receive this prestigious scholarship.
Wittenberg’s Macy Hubbard and Devon Atchison were honored with the prestigious award, as the criteria for selection are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics.
Wittenberg women's golf claimed third place at the NCAA Championship for the second consecutive season, while senior Macy Hubbard finished second individually for the third straight campaign.
Wittenberg made the biggest move on day two, carding a tournament-low 298 for a 314-298=612 score and fourth place, after finishing in seventh the day prior.
Wittenberg managed to land two members on the All-Great Lakes Region Team, and two on the WGCA All-American Squad. Jane Hokinson-Wood and Macy Hubbard were both named All-Great Lakes Region on Wednesday night, but the dynamic-duo was not done there, as both Tigers were named All-American’s for their stellar play in 2016-17.
Wittenberg women’s golf put together a team score of 314 in the opening round of the NCAA Division III National Championship, and currently sit in seventh place overall.
The men’s championship is the eighth straight for the Tigers, as the team put together a 54-hole score of 878 (284-293-301). Wittenberg’s women’s title is their third straight, with a 54-hole score of 944 (321-319-304).

Wittenberg, winners of the last two NCAC women’s golf titles, was once again selected as the favorite this year in the pre-championship series poll after collecting five of the first-place votes and 35 total points in balloting from the league coaches.
Wittenberg claimed fifth place at a combined 630 (+70) behind Carleton College (+67), DePauw Univeristy (+65), Gustavus Adolphus (+64) and eventual winner, Rhodes College (+37).
Wittenberg traveled to California to partake in the first ever OGIO Bulldog Classic, hosted by The University of the Redlands, as the Tigers finished in fourth place as a team.
The Tigers were led by Jane Hopkinson-Wood who finished the week tied for fourth-place individually. The junior came in +4 at the turn before finishing up her round with a five-over 77. Brianna Yee finished tied for tenth in Georgia, carding an 82 at the, 5809 yard Lake View course.
Brunswick concluded her career averaging 6.9 PPG and 8.1 RPG, while Kiess averaged 11.9 PPG and 3.1 RPG
Jane Hopkinson-Wood put a bow on the fall portion of the 2016-17 season by winning the highly competitive Golfweek Division III Fall Preview last week.
Wittenberg University golf saved its best for last, firing a 309 score on Tuesday afternoon to close out the Golfweek Fall Preview totaling 927 strokes to claim 1st place.
Wittenberg University carded a 311-309—620 (+44) to take the team title at the General's Invitational held at the Lexington Golf & Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
