Women's Golf Earns Second Win of the Season
Willoughby, OH - Wittenberg Women's Golf headed to Willoughby, Ohio, to participate in the JCU Women's Fall Classic, hosted by John Carroll at Manakiki Golf Course. After being in second place after the first round, the Tigers improved by 11 strokes as a team in the second round to come away as the team winner with a total score of 661 (+85) with a first round 336 (+48) and second round 325 (+37). Westminster (PA) took second with 669 (+93) and Shenandoah took third with a score of 685 (+109).
The top individual finisher for the Tigers was Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Scioto), who tied for second after shooting a first round 81 (+9) and second round 75 (+3) for a total of 156 (+12). Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) finished sixth in the field by carding a first round 82 (+10) and stayed consistent, carding another 82 in the second round to finish at 164 (+20) for the weekend. Third for the Tigers and tied for eighth overall was Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg). She scored 84 (+12) in the first round and second round 83 (+11) for a total of 167 (+23). The fourth finisher for Wittenberg was Josie Adamson (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills) with a first round 89 (+17) and second round 85 (+13) to be tied for 17th with a total of 174 (+30). Finishing tied for 27th in the field and the fifth finisher for the Tigers was Rose Yancey (Westerville, OH / North), who carded a first round 94 (+22) and second round 85 (+13) for a total score of 179 (+35).
The Tigers will be back in action again on October 20th and 21st, as they host the Jeff Roope Invitational at their home course, Springfield Country Club.
