Women's Golf Cruises at Jeff Roope Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, OH - The Wittenberg Tigers put an exclamation point on an outstanding fall portion of the 2025-26 campaign with a big victory in the 2025 Jeff Roope Invitational. It was the Tigers' third tournament victory in five starts in the fall.
Wittenberg was nothing short of dominant on its home course, the historic Springfield Country Club. After carding a team total of 324 in the opening round in near perfect weather conditions, the Tigers handled the wet, cold, windy conditions present throughout Round 2 well enough to post a team score of 331. While Otterbein beat the host team by three strokes in the second round, Wittenberg's 19-stroke lead from the opening round easily held up for a 16-stroke victory.
The Tigers finished at 655 (+43), compared to 671 (+40) for the Cardinals. Centre took third place in the seven-team field with a two-day total of 676.
Individually, Wittenberg was led by Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome). She turned in the low round of Day 2 with a three-over-par 75 after an 81 in her opening round. Her total of 156 (+12) was good for a first-place tie with John Carroll's Julia Gulla, who eventually took home the trophy after winning a playoff.
Next up for Wittenberg was Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) with a two-day total of 161, good for fourth place in the 40-player field. Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg) was next for the Tigers in fifth place with a score of 165, followed by Josie Adamson (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills) in 12th with a 173, and Rose Yancey (Westerville, OH / North) in 21st with a 180.
Two other Tigers were entered as individuals. Taylor Rausch (Mechanicsburg, OH / Mechanicsburg) finished 13th with a 174 and Lexi Buffkin (Bellefontaine, OH / Bellefontaine) finished 32nd with a 191.
