Tiger Golf Teams Primed For Another Winning Season
Coming off a 2024-25 season that culminated in the 30th NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in Wittenberg Men’s Golf program history, the Tiger men’s and women’s golf teams are hard at work preparing for an even better 2025-26 campaign.
The Tiger golf program is once again guided by Head Coach David Wetterich, class of 2014 and leader of the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Men’s Golf Coaching Staff of the Year. Wetterich enters his fourth year at the helm, and he returns plenty of talented, experienced student-athletes to both line-ups.
On the men’s side, the Tigers are coming off an upset victory at the NCAC Championships in May 2025, which propelled Wittenberg to a top-20 national finish a few weeks later. Four seniors have departed from that team, including Joshua Wright and Jake Yarbough, both of whom were in the lineup at the NCAA Tournament, but a young nucleus was formed during that postseason run. Leading the way in 2025-26 are sophomores Mitch Bolte (Newark, OH / Newark), who earned all-conference, all-region, and All-America awards a year ago, and Mikey Schutte (Cincinnati, OH / Elder), a second-team All-NCAC honoree last spring.
Junior Caleb Domitrovich (McDonald, OH / McDonald) and senior Mark Sulek (Delaware, OH / Hayes), a third-team All-NCAC selection last year, also return. In addition, sophomore Bradley Hinkel (Springboro, OH / Springboro), sophomore Alex Rath (Dublin, OH / Scioto), sophomore Griffin Turner (Enon, OH / Greenon), senior David Walterhouse (Statham, GA / Bethlehem Christian Academy), and junior Owen Williams (Plymouth, MI / Detroit Country Day) will be joined by a strong five-player recruiting class competing for spots in the lineup this year.
The men open the fall season at the Ted Barclay Invitational at Denison in Granville, Ohio, Aug. 30-31. Then in September they will compete in the Kuhn Invitational at Allegheny on the 21-22. Three tournaments will take place in October, including the GolfWeek October Classic at Raven Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Florida, on Oct. 12-14, followed by the Jeff Roope Invitational at Springfield Country Club on Oct. 20-21, and the O’Briant Jensen Invitational on the 27-28, hosted by Guilford College at The Cardinal Pete Dye course in Greensboro, NC.
On the women’s side, the Tigers tallied six top-five finishes throughout the season, highlighted by third place at the 2025 NCAC Championships. Among with those six top-fives, the Tigers turned in four top-three performances, including first place at Wooster. At the NCAC Championships, the women improved their team score three straight days, with a strong final round pushing the Tigers into third place in the final standings.
The Tigers lose just one player who competed in the NCAC Championships to graduation in Hillary Humbaugh. A trio of all-conference honorees return in senior Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) who has All-NCAC all three of her collegiate seasons, and sophomores Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg) and Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome), who both made the third team. Also vying for playing opportunities in 2025-26 are sophomore Josie Adamson (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills), junior Taylor Rausch (Mechanicsburg, OH / Mechanicsburg), and freshman Rose Yancey (Westerville, OH / North).
The women will compete in five fall tournaments, opening on Aug. 30-31 at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational at Denison in Granville Ohio. The Tigers will have two competitions in September, including the Joe and Lee Duncan Invitational at Rhodes College on the 15-16, followed by the Kuhn Invitational at Allegheny College on the 21-22. The fall portion of the campaign winds down with the John Carroll Women’s Fall Classic on Oct. 4-5 before hosting the Jeff Roope Invitational at Springfield Country Club on Oct. 20-21.
