Women's Golf Compete Against Exceptional Field in Savannah
Savannah, GA-The women's golf team traveled down to Georgia during Spring break to compete in the Savannah Invitational, hosted by Berry at the Club at Savannah Harbor. The teams that the Tigers competed against are among the best in the country, highlighted by 10 teams in the Clippd rankings top 25, including the number one and two ranked teams in Emory and Carnegie Mellon.
Carnegie Mellon took first, finishing at 24 under par and Washington-St. Louis was tied for second with Emory at 4 over par. Wittenberg finished in 19th at 70 over par over the two rounds, as they showed their consistency, carding a team total 35 over par in each round.
Individually, Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Dublin Jerome) had the best round on the team both days, with a 76 on day one and 78 on day two for a total of 154 and 8 over par. Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg) had a good first round, shooting an 81 and followed it up with an 84 in the second round to end her weekend at 19 over par. The most consistent Tiger was Taylor Rausch (Mechanicsburg, OH / Mechanicsburg), as she had a total of 83 both days to be 10 over par each round and end at 20 over par. The final Tiger to score each day was Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) as she carded a first round 87 and improved on that with a second round 82 in order to finish 23 over par. Josie Adamson (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills) and Rose Yancey (Westerville, OH / North) both competed as well, as Adamson shot an 88 and 90 as she finished 32 over par and Yancey carded rounds of 87 and 84 to be 25 over par.
Next up the Tigers will have almost two weeks without a competition before competing at the Max & Susan Stith Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon in Virginia, on March 30 and 31.
