Tigers Earn Top Five Finish at Greenbrier Intercollegiate
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV - Wittenberg Women's Golf traveled to West Virginia to compete in the Greenbrier Intercollegiate Women's Invitational hosted by Southern Virgina at the Greenbrier America's Resort. The Tigers competed against some of the top teams in the nation and finished a respectable fourth place out of 10 teams in the field.
Lynchburg took first after two rounds, at 51 over par. Host Southern Virgina was five strokes behind at 56 over par to take second place and Marymount (VA) was third at 72 over par. The Tigers took fourth place at 98 over par after posting scores of 43 over par in the first and 55 over in the second.
Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg) was the top individual Tiger finisher at 13th overall, as she carded a first-round 83 and second-round 79 to finish at 18 over par. In 18th place was Rose Yancey (Westerville, OH / North) at 21 over par with a first-round 79 and a second-round 86. Rounding out the top 25 in the field and top three for the Tigers was Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome) with a first round score of 84 and an 88 in the second round to finish at 28 over par. Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) was 30th overall as she carded a first-round 85 and second-round 90 to close out the two round at 31 over par. Right behind, in 32nd, was Josie Adamson (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills) at 34 over par as she recorded a first-round 85 and second-round 93. Taylor Rausch (Mechanicsburg, OH / Mechanicsburg) was the final finisher for the Tigers in 46th, finishing at 49 over par as she shot a first round 96 and second round 97.
The next time the Tigers get out on the course will be when they host their home tournament, the Pahhni Spring Intercollegiate Invite at Springfield Country Club on April 19.
